International references will reflect on the challenges of the present and future in cities
Zubi Labs is holding its Re-thinking Cities, Challenges towards Future Cities conference on 29 June at the Ciudad Politécnica de la Innovación in Valencia.
One of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals has set itself the challenge of achieving sustainable cities and communities by 2030. The increase in the world’s population in recent decades has triggered enormous urban growth, which has made it necessary for cities to be more sustainable than ever before in order to be able to cope with the increase in population in urban environments and for citizens to live in a dignified manner and with a quality of life. As an example of this great challenge, it should be noted that cities currently consume 75% of the world’s natural resources, produce half of the world’s waste and generate 60-80% of greenhouse gas emissions.
